Our esteemed guests from the People’s Republic of China brought to Türkiye the values of Chinese civilization and the Chinese revolution. Welcome.

Opening together in Ankara the Research Center of the Global Civilization Initiative launched by the People’s Republic of China under the leadership of comrade Xi Jinping inspires us and broadens our horizons.

The Birth, Rise and Fall of Civilizations

When we look at world history, we see that civilizations have risen from various geographies, brought new horizons to humanity’s development, added new values to our thoughts and feelings, formed a shell over time and decayed, and left their place to a new civilization.

China, Mesopotamia, India, Egypt, Anatolia, the Inca and Maya in South America, the Greek and Roman in the Mediterranean, Persian, Central Asian, Arab-Persian-Turkish Islamic civilizations, the rise of capitalism in Western Europe, North America and Japan, and in our age the National Democratic Revolutions and attempts to build Socialism have followed one another. Civilizations that sprouted in certain geographies have over time reached dimensions embracing all of humanity and acquired a universal character.

Like Tribes Passing a Rose from Hand to Hand

With the transition from tribal to class society, with private property, exchange economy, money, mathematics, writing, the founding of armies and states, the first fire of civilization kindled by certain societies passed from continent to continent and enlightened humanity; it became the property of all humanity.

If there is a phenomenon in the world that cannot remain ego-centered, a formation that cannot avoid being shared, it is civilization. Civilization established new societies, like tribes passing a rose from hand to hand, traveled from seas to seas, from continents to continents, and has come to our day.

The rise of every new civilization brought the foundation of a new society. Every civilization came with a new revolution embracing all of humanity and opened the door to a new age. In these processes, human values were redefined. We optimists share the view that every new civilization has brought more humane relations to humanity.

The Imperialist Tribute Economy Has Had Its Day

It is again humanity’s great experience: new civilizations rose not from the center but from the periphery of the civilization that had hardened into a shell, that could not overcome itself, that had reached a dead end and aged. Thus humanity, with its history advancing from civilization to civilization, was saved from decay, so to speak, and opened a new horizon for itself.

Today humanity has again entered a period of reckoning with a decaying system of exploitation and oppression. The imperialist tribute economy known as the dollar reign has now had its day. Humanity has come face to face with a degeneration that attempts to make men women and women men, that in this context declares war on human nature.

On the Agenda of the Seven Climates

Mehmet Akif, the poet of our national anthem, defined the imperialism going into decline a century ago as “the monster you call civilization, with only one tooth left”. We are experiencing this truth today in all its dimensions in the war declared by US imperialism and Israel against humanity.

There is a deep civilizational crisis in the centers of the imperialist system that alienates humans from their labor, from society, from humanity, and even from their gender.

Under these conditions, humanity is experiencing the labor pains of a new age. Yes, we are experiencing labor pains. But we know that every labor pain heralds a new birth. For this reason, we are fortunate people, we are the builders, indeed the founders, of a new civilization. In comrade Xi Jinping’s words, the construction of “humanity’s common future” is on the agenda of the seven climates.

We have come to the end of the imperialist stage of capitalism. Today a new civilization is rising from Asia. We have gathered here with the responsibility and pride of being among the builders of the new civilization.

We Stand on the Threshold of a Historic Responsibility

The civilization on whose threshold we stand will:

• End imperialist hegemonism,
• Be based on the independence and sovereignty of national states,
• Revive the humanism that imperialism and neoliberalism massacred,
• Revitalize the property and distribution relations that ignite work and production,
• Nourish public-good, sharing, populist, libertarian, democratic values,
• Give way to developments that open the way for peace in the world.

We Asians have contributed to humanity’s great civilizational advances throughout history. Today we again stand on the threshold of a historic responsibility.

We Share the Front Lines

The relationship of the Turkish tribe with Chinese civilization goes deep into history. Our Turkish horsemen carried many products of Chinese civilization all the way to the Atlantic Ocean.

We, as China and Türkiye, now share the pioneer positions of the rising civilization in the east and west. This responsibility undoubtedly has political, economic, and cultural dimensions. The political dimension is of key value. In this context, from east to west, as China, Russia, Iran and Türkiye, we share the front lines that determine the common future of all humanity.

Our common values and aspirations bind us to each other. In the world we long for, goods will not be exchanged for money, but in the words of the great Turkish bard Shah Hatayi, rose will be weighed against rose.

We Will Be Cleansed of Every Kind of Alienation

In the world we long for, not people but things will be governed. In the world we long for, we will be cleansed of every kind of alienation. Sharing these aspirations and sense of duty binds us to worlds far beyond our horizons, placing on our shoulders the responsibility to build today the human relations of distant futures.

The longing to share a world free of class, exploitation, and every form of alienation ignites our love of humanity, our philosophy, our inventiveness, our cultural and artistic creativity.
